The Barnhart Life
I gave up on sleep when housekeeping knocked on my door asking for towel service. For the 4th time, I told them that I am a summer CA therefore I do not get towel service. Finally, someone wrote it down so maybe I won't be woken up anymore. It seems that lately people have had a problem listening. Like the Wells Fargo people who called me 5 times asking for an Alma Martinez. Even though I told them it was a wrong number and talked to a suerpvisor, it wasn't until I bitched them out on the phone and hung up on them that they stopped calling. Don't get me started on some of the guests that I have to deal with. Desk duty sucks because it puts you in contact with the people here that normally you wouldn't have to deal with. I have desk duty today... :(
I don't know why but I cannot sleep here. I came back to my room from playing drunk Cranium in Dorisas room around 12... talked on line and e-mailed me people till12:30 and then decided to watch TV until I fell asleep.... which 2 hours later still hadn't happened. So I decided to listen to music and fall asleep.... didn't work. I think I finally drifted off around 3... then woke up about 4, then 4:30...6...6:45.....7:10 when all the stupid high school girl choir members got up to go to breakfast...8:30....9:45...9:47...9:50...9:55...and finally 10 when they asked for towels. This has pretty much been the pattern since I've moved here, except for the night that I took tylenol night with codine so I could actually sleep. It worked, but I'm not going to do that a lot.
Except for that, I slept fine while Nick was here. He came down Tuesday night and left yesterday afternoon. We had a lot of fun, even though in the beginning I had to work a lot. We just hung out with each other since now we won't see each other for another month. We went to the movies (Batman Begins, very good!!), out to dinner, we went to castle aka my first trip to a porn shop haha which was well.... eye opening. I saw the giant double headed black dildo that Jesse and Dom were talking about!! Hahaha! Saturday we went to lunch at this restraunt that was right by the river and it was actually sunny and it was so relaxing. Then we went walking and sorta stumbled upon this huge park with this duck pond in the middle of it. So we sat and watched little kids feed the ducks and basked in the sunshine. It was really nice to have him here and after he left I was so down and lonely so I spent most of the day in an anti social mood watching Law and Order. :(
I was pulled out by Dorisa, Bethany, Caitlin, Megan and Sarah thoughy by playing Cranium and drinking a great mix hahaha. We didn't get too drunk, just tipsy enough to make the game interesting. I had so much fun, there quite a few moments that I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Sarah and I kicked everyone's ass. I think possibly the highlights were Bethany acting out an earthquake, me acting out a triple bypass surgery (which I nailed btw hahaha) and when Caitlin made the mold of the molar asnd stuck it in her mouth to our disgust. "You know how you made a molar and stuck it in your mouth? What if someone made a penis and stuck it in their pants??"- Bethany Hahahaha! maybe you just had to be there but holy shit. One of the better nights I've had here.
Now I'm off to shower and sit in the desk for 4 long hours.... :(
