I know Vern is not reading this but as to who got whom into what war, it has nothing to do with political affiliation and what party you belong to. It's all to do with who's in charge and their personal opinions. You don't have to be a republican to support the war or the troops, just like being a democrat doesn't necessarily mean that you're against those things, and that is why I never liked Vern Henderson: he was always so black and white about everything, and there was only room for exception when it came to him.
(And it's not just because he's conservative, either. I have just as little patience for liberals who are like that as well.)
