Hello to all my fine online pals!
To get to the point, I'm studying Japanese. I want to get better at it. I need to practice and for languages, working with other people definitely helps. I know all sorts of grammar about conjugating い adjectives and other stuff, but I'm not being asked to construct general sentences except to answer a few questions at the time the specific lesson is taught.
So I thought I would make a community, because, e-bunnies aside, communities make everything better. Right?
Pretty Orianna's Japanese Practice Community Anyway, the point is, I made two posts. One is an introduction and explanation and also happens to include a brief list of the concepts I've learned. The second is a vocabulary list that is limited to only those words that include kanji and fit the grammar rules in the first post. I put a link to the second post into the first post.
The point of it all is, I know I need the practice and I know there are probably others of you out there in the same position who might want to practice. And if we all make posts about how far we've gotten, we can keep them updated and link to them in our other posts on the community. That way, if people are feeling helpful and unlazy, they can post stuff that stays within the limits of what one or more members has learned. And if people are feeling helpful and lazy, they can just post "stuff" that we might not understand yet but that gives us a goal to work towards. And if people are feeling unhelpful and lazy, well... there's nothing to be done for that, is there? LOL
I don't know if I'm wasting my time, and I'm sure there are other communities out there dedicated to helping people learn to speak/type Japanese. But, dammit, I want this one. And
maeda_marika is awesome and very, very helpful and patient, but I don't want to always bug her. She works and she also writes fics and so the polite thing would be to not rely solely on her (not that she's complained, not at all. Never forget how awesome you are, Marika!!!!)
So, yay, let's go type basic/intermediate/whatever sentences to each other in hiragana/katakana/kanji and see how it goes? Could be fun. All the cool kids will be doing it. You want to be cool, don't you?
