It never occurred to me that you could make soup out of fruit.
But now my husband's got high blood pressure and the doctor gave him 2 months to get it under control if he wants to avoid blood pressure meds (which he really, really doesn't want to take), so I, being the ever loving and devoted wife that he's damn lucky he has LOL, I went online and looked up low-sodium recipes.
It was on that site (well, sites, plural) that I discovered fruit soup recipes. The fruit lover in me said, "Oh I have got to try that!" and the rest of me said, "Normally I'd argue but can I have some too?"
So I found one recipe that's Raspberry Cranberry soup. Unfortunately, our local stores don't sell fresh OR frozen cranberries. So I substituted strawberries for them (can't go wrong with good ole strawberries) and made some soup. The recipe said that it could be eaten either while still hot or chilled and it made enough for two. So I'm eating it hot now and chilled later! (My hubby has no interest in fruit soups). And let me tell you, oh, this stuff is heavenly! Worth all the effort to push berries through the fine mesh sieve.
So, here's a picture. And below that, the cutest picture I've ever gotten of Mama's Little Hellspawn. Don't let the cuteness fool you. She's an evil little heathen.
