[personal] Food Stuff!

Okay, I officially have decided that panna cotta rocks.  Or, well, honey and yogurt panna cotta with peach puree rocks.  I can't speak to other versions.

But I was pretty sure I was going to like this, ever since I saw the words "heavy cream" and "honey" and "fruit puree" in the recipe.  OMG so awesome.

Turned out so much better than that time I tried to make menjar blanc.  That stuff was pretty bland.  Maybe I didn't do it right because the recipe talks about how menjar blanc is supposed to be pretty rich.

The honey and yogurt panna cotta with the peach puree is really rich and next time I'll do even better (I'm not used to working with gelatin and also, the gelatin I got was in packets and the recipe called for a certain measurement so I measured it from the packet and then later decided I should put the rest of it in and it apparently didn't mix quite as well as I though I had gotten it because there's a handful of tiny gummy pieces in it.  So, yeah, better next time).  I have everything I need to make it again except the peaches.  But I do have ground almonds that were boiled with cinammon and lemon peel before they were ground so that might make a good topping for it in absence of peach puree.  Or I have blackberries in the fridge.

PANNA COTTA ROCKS!

In case you're curious, I used this recipe, though I upped the cream and lessened the milk to a 3:1 ratio instead of a 1:1 and used whole milk instead of skim: Honey yogurt panna cotta with white peach puree
