Pre-haircut Selfie and Explaination
Figured I would post a selfie prior to my haircut tomorrow is in order.
Why a haircut?
I suppose the reason starts with why I started to grow my hair out in the first place. Too many of friends and family have succombed to cancer in the past few years. When my mom was diagnosed, I decided I needed to do something possitive with my lack of time and energy. What better thing to do than to let my hair grow. And so it did through hysterectomy, chemo, radiation external and internal, chemo, a few medical scares and finally hernia repair.
The hair is now well over the minumum 10 inch pony tale that is needed. Many have said that it is lovely at this length and that I should keep it. Some have even begged that I not cut it. However, the point of this excercise was to give myself the gift of charity and, now, gratitude that my mom is doing so well. Maybe later, I will grow it out for myself.
