Appearance: Although Black☆Star has gone through a growth spurt in the recent chapters of the manga, he is still relatively short -- short and sinewy, a testament to all of his hard work and training. Blue hair sits unruly on his head, dipping into teal eyes -- both of which stand in stark contrast with his dark tan skin. On his right shoulder is the tattoo of a star, denoting his heritage as a member of the hoshizoku (the star clan). Going right through the center of that star is a fresh scar, picked up from his final battle with Mifune. He wears it proudly.
Canon point: Chapter 88
Cause of Death: When they went on the whale hunt in the sky (yes. There was a flying whale...what is my canon), Black☆Star, Tsubaki, Maka, and Soul were basically trying to lure the whale closer to the villagers so that they could kill it and their village could prosper. After doing this, the villagers shot a harpoon that cut through a stretched out scarf that allowed him to stay in the sky (yeah, I don't get it either) -- thus making him fall to the ground. I'm going to say the harpoon was slightly higher and instead of cutting the scarf, wound up piercing through him.
Abilities:
Soul Menace: Soul Eater canon deals a lot in the strength of the soul and various attacks are centered around it. Black☆Star has the ability to literally drive his soul wavelength into someone else and attack them from the inside out. It comes off similar to electrocution, and he simply needs to make contact with his hand in order to hit his opponent. Not only that, but his soul appears to be incredibly strong -- much stronger than most, giving him a MUCH more powerful burst of energy when he attacks. This attack alone generally isn't enough to kill an opponent, but definitely enough to knock them out or at the very least jar them if they're extremely strong of soul.
Madness: In the recent chapters, Black☆Star acquired a new ability to use the madness wavelength as a tool for strengthening his attacks. This allows him to become increasingly stronger and even enhances some of his skills with Tsubaki -- however, it runs a risk of driving him completely mad.
Physical abilities: Black☆Star has always excelled above the rest as far as strength and agility go. He is the perfect ninja (or would be if he wasn't so loud and obnoxious -- though he has gotten much better). He can do some ridiculous number of push ups and pull ups (like in the thousands) and has a ridiculously high stamina. All in all, he's the definition of a shounen hero -- stupid, obnoxious, and STRONG.

Personality:
If there was a picture definition of self-confidence or arrogance, Black☆Star would be there with his thumb up and a huge grin on his face. He is the epitome of self-confidence -- so confident in himself that he can even explain off his failures because of his greatness. Black☆Star claims that he is the one who will surpass God and that he is number one in all aspects. If anyone seems to stand out more than he does, he gets pissed pretty quick and will either challenge them to a fight or do something obnoxious to stand out more. He's spastic, energetic and loud; so loud in fact that he tends to botch up his own stealth missions by yelling something obnoxious.
Black☆Star is pretty self-deluded, but while that can be an annoyance to some...it seems to be the source of his strength. It is because he believes he is so great that he becomes great. He never allows himself to think he can lose because that would be worse than being defeated. If there is an obstacle in his way, then you can bet he will push through it. He houses raw determination to persevere and has drive like you wouldn't believe, proving that while he is 90% talk...he CAN back up those words.
You would think that with such pride and arrogance, Black☆Star would be unable to relate to others. And you would be correct! The truth is, he can show a considerable amount of compassion on the rare occasion. There was a moment when his weapon Tsubaki had come back from battling her brother. She's the type of person who always hides her feelings for the sake of others. After returning, she claimed that she was fine. Knowing better, Black☆Star questioned her again and said that she can come and hug the great Black☆Star. Tsubaki then broke down while he comforted her. It is rare that he shows this side, but behind that mask of confidence...there is a kid that cares very deeply for his friends.
But that certainly doesn't mean he's the brightest. As a matter of fact, he studies hard for all of his exams and still manages to get zeros, which is really quite impressive. Black☆Star will be the first to try something without thinking; he's a doer not a thinker...and that often stands as his battle strategy.
Over the course of the manga, he has matured considerably. While he's still obnoxious and moronic, there's a part of him that's much more serious now. After having killed a warrior he respected greatly, he's carrying the man's legacy on his shoulders and in a scar on his arm -- and has vowed to become a bushin for his sake.
Old Game Info:
Like Maka, Black☆Star had once been pulled to the Island (i_s_l_a_n_d_rp) at an earlier point in his canon. At said canon point, he was much less mature and struggling to fight his own inner demons while remaining cocky and needlessly arrogant. If anything, the island only helped to keep him FROM reaching any point of maturity since he didn't really have the opportunities to fight to get stronger (even though he did make some fantastic rivalries with some of the other shounen idiots there).
He spent a great deal of his time there annoying people and trying to convert them to his religion (AKA worshipping HIM). Some of his closest 'friends' were Crow (a guy who had some weird obsession with card games but was otherwise pretty cool and let him stay on a pretty sweet blimp), Ayumu (Black☆Star claimed he was Ayumu's BEST friend. Ayumu did not want), Mikuru (she's hot and she bakes things. What more could you ask for?) and Leo (a half-lion guy who Black☆Star swore had the hots for his partner). With these people, he shared many memorable experiences whether it was because of the island's torture (island liked to put characters in weird situations for its own amusement because that's just what sentient islands do when they're bored) or just regular interactions. Island had opened Black☆Star up to the idea that there are worlds out there beyond his own, so he will be unsurprised meeting people here that come from different places.

Oi watch and listen to my awesome words. Or just read them, whatever. I always said I'd be a god, so from now on this place ain't Igura or whatever. It's Black☆Stara. If you guys need a pillar of hope to look up to, look up to my radiant, shining face and then you'll be able to carry on. That is until I kick your ass and take your tags! But don't feel bad. It's not like you stood a chance against me anyway.
So I probably ain't gonna use this thing too much. Typing's for boring losers. You'll probably see Maka use it a lot in that case. But I'm looking to take on the strongest guy out there right now.
