Been wondering what it's all about lately, typical for the season of DEATH!!! Most projects I've been working on have been held because of the new 7 inch coming out, we've started our mail-out list and this weekend Myke and I are going downtown with a bunch of copies to see who will take some consigments.
Spending more and more time at the day job, serving compesteous christmas shoppers insistent on only spending their bottom dollar. In general I'd say it's hardly worth buying new stuff this christmas anyway, considering the cost of materials being so high because of the inflation we've accepted on our dollar; a lot of the clothing items we sold last year have doubled in price which is certainly not a reflection of the quaility of the garments, which seems to be lower than the previous years items. Last week I read that 2 major grocery chains in Canada have been functioning in the black for the past few months because of the inflation and their refusal to raise prices to match the market because of the fear that their patrons will abandon them and shop somewhere else. It's going to be a tough Christmas for a lot of people, particularly those who have their money tied up in stock.
During down time, I've made some modifications to my live set up. I've ditched the digital effects processor and have started building an effects pedal chain; analog solidgold fx superduperdrive, signal gate, memory boy analog delay, morley waw/volume pedal, right now I have an electro-harmonix bass metaphors pedal for compression and eq but I'm waiting on a black finger tube compressor (yay! chirstmas present from Myke!) which I will sub in for the bass metaphors and drop in a graphic equalizer just before it for some beasty contour. BANG!!
