Now I kind of want the fic where he's a competitive surfer but he's all PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE and everyone thinks he doesn't really love surfing, that it's a means to an end or something, but he really DOES love it. And Louis comes along, another surfer on the circuit and he's just a total goofball and Liam is all YOU DON'T TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY >:( but over time Liam learns he is actually serious about it and Louis learns that Liam really does love surfing and, and, IDK. THEY FALL IN LOVE (duh).
Meanwhile, Louis' BFF Harry sits on the beach all day flirting with ANYTHING WITH LEGS and meets this Irish kid who sells snow cones and this other kid Zayn, who likes to sit far away from the water and makes a living being a caricature artist.
