2010 Fic Year-in-Review

Dec 31, 2010 19:25

Total Number of Completed Stories: 4 fics, 30 bingo prompt completions
Total Word Count: 145,836
Fandoms represented: Bandom (Panic! at the Disco, The Young Veins)

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? Less fic than I thought I would get done, but more words than I ever dreamed of completing.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? None, really. I'm nothing if not predictable in my fandom and pairings.

What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? The one I am most proud of is a sensation of falling, but I think white on white (a better view) was one of the most interesting to write, given its style.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I wouldn't say risks, but signing up for both waves of bandombigbang and completing them was definitely challenging. It was a learning experience in terms of writing on a time schedule. (One I don't think I learned very well.)

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? Definitely! I've signed up again for getyourwordsout. This year they are offering a 150K challenge which I think I will be able to meet given my output for this year.

My best story of this year: Hands down, a sensation of falling.

My most popular story of this year: on delicious, it would be white on white (a better view); by comments, it would be a sensation of falling.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: This is where I want to cheat and put winter's passing, a fic that I completed on December 1st of last year, but I suppose for 2010 it would be my hs_bingo blackout.

Most fun story to write: a white sport coat (and a skinny black tie) and oh baby, baby.

Story with the single sexiest moment: ahahahaha, I think the only one that had any kind of sexy moment was a thin line between.

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Um, I don't really have one? Although I did kill a horse and give a dog monophobia? >_>

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Hmmm. I guess a sensation of falling, if only for the fact that I don't think I've ever put a character through that much emotionally before.

Hardest story to write: Definitely a sensation of falling.

Biggest Disappointment: I don't really have one, amazingly enough.

Biggest Surprise: That I completed 2 of the 3 bingo squares that I signed up for and finished ALL my big bang fics.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story: I'm not really sure? I think I put so much of myself in each story that to read my stuff is to know me. Ugh, that sounds corny.

In conclusion: I am really, really proud of the last year and hope to kick its ass in 2011!
