It's so depressing. I got all excited about a possible suspect in some of the Juarez murders, (It couldn't be one person, there are too many) and the more I read about it, the shadier it looks. The police in Juarez are looking for someone to blame, to shut people up, rather than actually solving anything. It's all become this terrible joke.
...before Alvarez Cruz decided not to challenge his removal from the United States he was concerned whether Mexican authorities would apprehend him upon entering Mexico and torture him to get him to confess to the slayings. (From here.)That stuff really happens! It happened to those bus drivers!
...and all the while, US companies are still moving their manufacturing from Michigan to Juarez like nothing is going on. It would be so nice if someone from one of these big American companies did more to keep their workers safe, or put some pressure on the local authorities, since these people and their willingness to work for less is the reason why they came to Mexico. I know that's too much to ask for, but it would be NICE.
