So I bought heels for school yesterday. They are amazing. That's the good part. Here's where it starts to suck:
Chelsea pointed out that the dress code now adamantly states no heels or open back shoes. I checked. No heels. What. The. HELL. There is no way I am following that rule, because it is bullshit and we've never had it before. There have been absolutely no problems with girls and heels. It's crap. They say it's for safety reasons. Uh huh, sure. Girls are just as likely to get hurt wearing flats or sneakers.
Anyway, I'm not following it. If I get in trouble, Ms. Gray or whatever her name is can speak directly to my mother. I'm going to wear my shoes on the first day and stride right past her. She does not scare me. I am a rule-abiding student 98% of the time. I can be allowed to break one or two. I don't wear my skirt at a ridiculously short length, I don't take food or drink outside of the caf (often), I get spectacular grades and help my fellow students and teachers. There is no reason that I should be singled out on this one, and no reason that any other girl should either.
Is anyone else going to wear heels anyway or are you going to shrink in fear?
Sorry, that was mean. So, who's with me? Sticking it to the presumed dictator, who may or may not actually be a dictator?
