Taking a short break from the packing extravaganza to write a quick update. Adam is napping on my bed, poor thing, after spending the past few hours helping me pack up most of my worldly belongings. I'm actually incredibly grateful that he was here to help because not only did it just make things go so much faster, but he really pushed me to throw away a lot of stuff I was hanging onto that I just don't need. At this stage, most of what I have left are clothes, shoes, and the kitchen and all the little stuff that I didn't want to box up in case I need it. The apartment now looks so empty, which is going to be mildly depressing to come home to every day over the next two weeks, but I have to keep reminding myself how wonderful it's going to be when I'm all settled in up in Indy. But I think we made REALLY good progress for a couple hours worth of work.
So in a little while we'll be heading out to Target to either get more boxes from work or maybe just buy a couple more plastic tubs (I just have so. many. clothes.), and then it's off to Mia & Maxx for a haircut. I seriously cannot remember the last time I got a haircut but I think it was in the fall last year, so needless to say I've been looking forward to this ALL WEEK. Once I'm done there, we're heading up to Greenwood to have dinner and hang out with Adam's friends, which should be fun. It's too bad it's just a little too late to take a nap myself now otherwise I'd be tempted to lay down too. We were up late last night with the telescope out at the lake. We didn't stay out long but we managed to look at the moon, Jupiter and its moons, and a neat star cluster in the big dipper. Apparently Neptune is also visible this time of year, hiding just near Jupiter, but I don't think his telescope is powerful enough because we couldn't find it.
Anyway, I think I'm off to hunt down a snack of some kind to hold me off until we go to dinner, and then it'll be time to wake up the boy so we can head out. I hope everyone else is having a happy Saturday!
