Welcome to the Interblag

Hello Internet, welcome to the experiment that currently goes by the name of Pretty Frocks street performance. This blog will be chronicaling a busker life in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada from it's beginings in frigid March to (hopefully) frigid October(ish).
This whole thing is inspired by all the street performances I've witnessed in the past, particularly at the Art's Festival in Galway, Ireland and the living statue guys in Blackpool and York, England.
It is currently creeping up to the middle of March and we've had another terrific dumping of snow. Honestly there is no where to put it. Going outside is to take one's life into one's hands. So, to ward off the nasty (but fun) weather outside, I have been coming up with the plan for the Summer. Last night I emailed the City of Ottawa to see about how to procure a busker's licence (not holding my breath for an answer), and created my first costume. This first of many is Autumn. It was pretty easy to do as I already had the costume sitting in my closet from Hallowe'en 2002. All that I needed to do was adjust it with a stitch here and there, fix up the fiddly bits (leaves) and make the mask, which is in this case made from fabric. Huzzah!
Next up- Alice. I need to create a mask, fix up my March Hare, find a doormouse and an appropriate hat for the Hatter and get myself some teacups.

Cheers, guys!
