Dead Until Dark, Charlaine Harris: The first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. These are the books that True Blood is based on. Just as hot, and a bit more depth to the characters, especially Sookie (first person means you actually are given proof there something really does go through that pretty blonde head of hers). I want to get my hands on the next in the series.
Lost in a Good Book, Jasper Fford: I love Jasper Fford. He is the most clever author I think I have ever read. He will set up jokes several books in advance, reference things that haven't even happened yet (making re-reading essential), and packs in so many literary references that the more well read you are, the better his books become. Absolutely astounding. This is the second book in the Thursday Next series- I am rereading the series and loving every paragraph. Read these books. Do it. Do it now.
Also, I have to get up stupidly early to meet a friend at Heathrow Airport for a week of tomfoolery in London and Brighton.
