i'm sorry it's been a while. we just got back from thanksgiving break. we drove up with jerry on tuesday and got there at like 3:00am on wednesday morning. then we woke up at like 9am to help my mom decorate for the wedding that would take place on friday...the day after thanksgiving. thursday, we woke up at 9 again, and decorated all day until like 7, until we finally went home and ended up having thanksgiving dinner at like...9. friday was the actual wedding, it was beautiful, thanks to my mom...and the weather was actually really nice (since it was outside) that night, keith and i sat down with my auntie loida, my uncle arturo, my Lola (grandmother), Lolo (grandfather) and my parents to talk about getting married. it was a really good talk. we my grandparents told us about the process of marriage negotiation that they had to go through. and but before they even started their story, they looked at keith and said, "welcome to the family!" and my Lolo extended his hand for a handshake. it felt really good. it was really neat because here are my parents and my aunt and uncle firing away at us with these hallowing questions, and my sweet little lola would interject with, "no...you don't have to worry about that, just be happy and love one another." it was such a nice light to see my family in. i'm one of the first in my generation to get married. the other cousin eloped a few months ago.
that night, keith threw up on our couch and all over the floor, and then we both work up the next morning with the flu. it was hilarious. it's kinda gross now that i think about how he threw up everywhere, but thank God for our wooden floors. the couch will take a while to recover though. heheh. poor boy.
so we spent the majority of the rest of our break trying to get better. just moving around really slow, keith fetching me fresh glasses of water, my mom making us turkey soup. it was a pathetic sight, but it was really funny to us. if you can imagine, i'm sure you'll giggle as well.
my dad left for japan on sunday morning, the same day we were supposed to leave, we ended up leaving on monday because neither keith nor i would have been able to make it any earlier.
this trip made me really really appreciate my family and our culture. especially my parents and their parents. they really do want to see the best for us.
wedding theme choices:
-Moroccan
-Greek (no togas, don't worry)
-beach
each will be outdoors. i REALLY don't wanna get married inside.
what do you all think?
