Today beats yesterday by ... everything.
I thought we were going to Capilano Mall today (which I've nicely found out that place has all of 3 stores. Haha). So, Greg ever so willingly handed over his Debit Card, and the rest of the change he had. Then, we went to Mary's to pick up Tara (who was apparently taking me to the Mall. Linda and Gramma was with us. When we got there, Tasha came out and told us that Tara was still in the shower, and we had to go in to wait for her. So we go in.
Everyone was there.
"...wtf... why are all these people here?", were my thoughts.
Then I saw the ribbons, and the big helium balloon that said "Baby Shower".
It was amazing. lol. I did NOT know what to say, and remember what my reactions to getting free things, and getting attention is. I freeze up and never know what to say. Heh. But, oh man. It was fucking great! There was Greg's Kokum, Debbie and her 2 daughters (Tanika and Aurora), Bev, Val, Colleen and her daughter (i forgot her name *sorry!*), Mary, Jamie, Linda, Amy, Grandma, Tasha, and Tara (who was the brain-child of this whole thing). If I forgot anyone, I am sorry!
Anyway, there were some fun babyshower games (bingo, word-things, etc etc), a door prize [Everyone got a "diaper" when they arrived, they kept it until the end, and then we all had to open it to see if it was "soiled". Val had the soiled one (Looked like poo, was actually chocolate), and she won]. There was food, and chips and everything. Then we opened presents. I got SO many baby things!! I will post what I got when I can remember. I will post what I can remember.
Val got me a breast-pump and SO MANY other things!! I guess her being a first-time kokum excites her. LOL. I would be excited too. :D I got a baby swing from the entire family, a LOT of clothes and diapers and wipes, and LOADS of toiletries. I got a gift certificate from Linda for Build A Bear at West Ed. I got a swanky diaper-bag from Bev, which she filled up with LOADS of different baby things, and a bath-set for me :D. Oh man, I got SO MUCH stuff. I will take lots of pics when I get some batteries for the camera.
It turned out they have been planning it since Ron and Amy's barbeque 2 weeks ago. Greg kept the secret from me for that long! I was rather amazed. LOL. I had absolutly no clue, even when they were whispering on the phone and getting everything ready. Hehe. I appreciate it so much. Like... wow.
