You wrote something! Think I'm going to drag this happy event out by not reading until later. Then I can geek around today, grinning and knowing I have a treasure in my computer. XD
Couldn't stop myself from reading right away. So much for my discipline.
"When, Jiyong? When was it that you sat beside a man and copied out his dying words to his oblivious wife and made sure to leave all his goddamned grammatical errors in so that when she read it she could pretend that he had written it and not worry about the fact that he had lost both arms in a land-mine assault?"
That part really got to me. War is awful and terrible and all things bad and still there is so much of it. Never ending.
T_T
I love this fic and your writing. Reading about war makes my heart ache and I hope I will never live to see it happening up close.
i'm a history student. and i have such an interest in war. in all aspects of war. but my primary interest is in how one deals with reality once they've returned from hell.
i guess i wanted to try and explore that here...
thank you so much for your review! i'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'm also a former history student. What studying history has made to me is to make me get a hint of how small out existence really is. So much have happened, so much will happen and the life we're living is really just a parenthesis in the big picture. Not that one necessarily need to go all depressed about that, it's more that it makes me enjoy life more since I feel that life is too short to wast on bad thoughts.
Alright, I'm rambling. Haha!
Good luck with your new years resolution btw. I should have promised myself something like that too. XD
what history has giving me is a dislike of the present! haha. i'm forever fobbing of nights-out with friends (and what have you) to stay at home and read whatever historical book came in the mail that day.
it's probably rather distressing and pathetic... i do enjoy is so. i really did pick the right major.
may i ask, what historical (period? occasion?) subject are you interested in most?
my new years resolution is going splendidly! haha. i'm quite, quite pleased with this semesters results so far.
