Fandom: Supernatural
Spoilers: For All Hell Breaks Loose part I & II
Word Count: 232
Prompt: Blink; tunnel
Summary: There are no tunnels of light with death.
A/N: The title is derived of Armour for Sleep's "The Truth About Heaven", it inspired this. It's not a song fic, though. I'm a little nervous, I've never posted here before as well, so here goes.

He’s been stabbed--fiery pain spreads from the entrance wound, his spine and his entire being. He can’t think about anything, and he falls to his knees on the muddy ground, unable to support himself. But he can hear Dean yelling somewhere, it’s far off. But Dean is here. He’s here and he’ll fix…he always does.

Sam can’t feel his touch, or hear his frantic words anymore because there is this rushing in his ears, and it‘s so loud. He can’t see the desperation written in Dean’s eyes because his vision fades so quickly and he’s dying and there’s no time to say what he should’ve said so long ago. The pain is gone, as his eyes slip shut this final time.

There are no tunnels of light, there is only a feeling of peace that drapes over Sam Winchester like a blanket, a warm feeling that he felt naught in life.

Upon opening them again, he sees his mother, looking happy and radiant as he remembered her from that day in Lawrence. And Jess is there. Sweet Jessica, smiling at him. But Dean…Dean isn’t here. He blinks, and it’s gone.

After  he wakes up and feels the pain his shoulder and the sharp stinging in his back, he doesn’t remember it. But he looks up and sees his brother.

For this first time in what seems like ages, he feels Dean’s embrace.

Fin.
