Sometimes at night, in the dark, I put on my coat.
Stretching it tight across my chest, I pull the large pointed hood over my ears, digging my bare hands under my arms as l look like little red riding hood into the night.
I walk to the end of my street, near the dunes, I can hear the most amazing sounds.
Its the waves. They're crashing and swirling, mixing and moving.
The lake is in motion and all seems right.
I look up and see bright stars above me.
And I stand there.
I listen. I look. I breathe.
Heat escaping from my breath with each exhale. Cold intoxicating air fills my lungs until it burns.
And the world is beautiful.
And that's all I want.
