I miss old dopey looking Mikeyyyyy. And oldskool Gerard seemed to have a better sense of humour, no? (In ref to the rocksound interview) He's all serious nowadays.
and OKAY THE GUITAR-PLAYING GERARD AND TOYDRUM BOB PICTURE IS WIN.
Yeah, when we met him around 3-ish years ago, it seemed uh... less self-centered and more easy-going. The sad thing is that I didn't like MCR thing... my friend just dragged me along to the concert. (I didn't know who was who. I only knew that one of them was Mikey Way.) But he was nice to us in the gas station when my friend exploded her water bottle. Probably now, he wouldn't be caught dead in a gas station where fans most likely would have been. Oh well.
Wow surprisingly you knew Mikey Way and not Gerard Way first. It's okay. My first (and only) MCR concert was last December and back then I was rocking out to knowing just Gerard and "the awesome guitar God with funky big hair".
I first fell in love with their personalities listening to old radio interviews and at that point I didn't realise there was a difference between then and now. I agree with him being self-centered now, but I guess that comes with the exposure and job of being a megaband's frontman.
I met a bunch of people who worked for MTV here and I asked them about MCR in person..they said "they're boring". Naturally I was defensive, but they were comparing MCR to Dave Grohl and his band. So, yeah. Haha.
Yeah, you can tell how much he changed by reading the interviews and on LOTMS. He was more humble back then and in recent interviews, he boasts about his band being the best band in the world. :/
Out of the spotlight, I can sort of see how the MTV people had thought that. Most famous people are less interesting when they aren't projecting their image and being their true selves.
So maybe alcoholic/depressive Gerard had more flavour. I know many fans hate hearing that but we all know it's true. Yes, drugs and alcohol = bad, but sometimes fun.
Anyway. I like you and your hot random picspams. Friend? :D
Well, I met him when he was sober (in 2005) and he nice then. And the guy has an addictive personality so maybe if he knew not to do it on a regular basis, things would be different now. Possibly, the fame contributed to his outward behaviour to fans, as well as how he presents himself, too. But Frankie didn't change much and he still talked to fans freely, whereas Gerard was more uptight. You know people saying about fame going to ones head... I'm guessing the fame has more to do with it which brought along arrogance, as well.
Sure. :] *Added*
I like new friends. And if I am not mistaken, I spot an icon of Alex from Arctic Monkeys. I used to adore them.
