alright, guys -- May Day is going hot so far. How tempted I've been to go get some almonds from the nut hut today, but i stay true to the cause!! I wish I could have protested at noon with everyone, but i had school...and i'm failing as is, so i'm trying to pick my saggy butt up and pull off passing grades for the semester.
and did you hear about the new drug law to be passed in mexico? holy cheese. legalizing mary jane, cocaine, amphetamines, etc. funny thing: it's legal to hold them on your person and smoke them, but it's ILLEGAL to sell them...is this going to start some bartering system? "hey ese, here's my iguana for four joints" whatever. what kinds of implications is this going to place on sur america? colombia-- they've got the plantations, etc. it is so dangerous for them--dying and seriously harming their health to make a living by illegally growing and selling this stuff. and now the demand rises? anyone trying to escape the cycle and make an honest living isn't going to back out now that demand is going to skyrocket. developed countries already take advantage of developing countries by harvesting THEIR resources, to be bought at a cheap price by us, so we can RE-SELL the shit back to them while destroying their environment and depleating them of their resources. we dont' care about them, we dont' care about their economy, and we dont' care about their environment. ok, a little drastic there, but we only care to the extent that we can still stay on top. politics interject into everything, so we help them to their knees when they fall, but we keep them from standing. hey-- someone has to stay under our thumb. so, what now? hispanics no longer fighting for la raza? mexico is looking out for #1? what about south america? what about their people?
