ok, so now i will tell all of my tuesday experience... (but bear with me here, cause my writing skills at the moment aren't very good, it's too early in the morning)
we left at 7 in the morning, and didn't really get there 'till 1, i think we sort of dicked around here and there. so it was me, Kyla, Hilary, Destiny and Cody.
We got there and Destiny found out that Jeff Hanneman had left her and Cody tickets and band passes, so Cody scalped her original ticket.
We literally walked in the front gates and within 5 minutes, this roadie guy comes up to us and invites backstage behind the second stage. so we got to watch slipknot and a few other crappy bands from backstage. (also, Kelly Osbourne asked me for a smoke and I gave her one. ha ha, you'd think she could afford her own god damn smokes.)
now, it was so bloody hot out and we had lawn tickets and we would have fucking died if it wern't for these guys. they brought us into their bus and thats where we hung out between bands. and they fed us and gave us water (which they were charging at stands for 3.50 american!) and beer and pot.
unfortunately by the time we got down to the mainstage, we'd missed Superjoint Ritual, which was who Cody really wanted to see. on the good side, rather then being way the fuck up on the lawn, those guys got us way down on the floor, right in front of the stage. When dimmu Borgir played, I was right in the center at the front. ha! in your face Eric! i did get to see Dimmu afterall.
So Slayer was good I guess, but then again, I'm not a huge fan of theirs so ya...
Judas Priest, wow that was an experience for sure. Rob halford rode in on a god damn motorcycle. halford is such a rockstar i can't even handle it. it sort of ruined it a little bit. i mean, it was great, but at the same time, it was annoying how he kept running around in between songs for five minutes getting the crowd to yell "priest! priest! priest!"
well, what halford ruined in priest's set, ozzy made up for in sabbath's set. they were so amazing. i was soo impressed. everytime people cheered, ozzy seemed genuinely pleased and honored. he was grinning from ear to ear, running back and forth (as much as he was able) between the middle of the stage and tony iomi. sabbath were so tight in the way they played, it just sounded crystal clear, and they looked like they were just genuinely having a good time. wow, i was never a huge sabbath fan, but i enjoyed that soo much. i was soo impressed. very good.
well, after the show, we spent an hour searching for our car in the enormous parking lot. but we eventually found it, and we didn't get home 'till 6 in the morning.
a good time was had by all, i just wish i could do it more justice if i could write better right now.
