Happy Superman Day!
I'm not going to spill anything, that would not be nice.
Suffice it to say I loved it. There were aspects that weren't so great such as running time it's a little under three hours so you should pee before seeing it. And like with the Harry Potter films, Superman Returns simply felt right. When I go into a film based on a book or a comic, I want it to capture the feeling I had reading it. It's worked now for two out of the three DC heavy hitters. Joss, we're waiting on Wonder Woman, please hurry.
The casting was perfect. The John Williams' Superman theme and Marlon Brando clips were perfect. Brandon's stances were dead on to Christopher Reeve. Even that dopey curl in the middle of his forehead didn't bother me.
I think I'll watch Christian Bale run around in a cape and cowl.
I give it a 4 and 1/2 out of 5 pockets full of kryptonite.
