woah woah woah woah
I've become increasingly interested in my two newest characters...
Andvari - She is a 'seer' which is a person/thing of Atlantian-origin born directly from the stream of life. Therefore, they aren't born as a child really, but as an adult. Being born involves an intricate process where the body decends from a ribbon of life. The whole thing was inspired by a Cirque du Soleil I saw on t.v. where some woman in a nude suit did one of those things where you wrap yourself up in a ribbon hanging from the ceiling and stuff... yeah.. it was really cool. I thought it looked like she was being born because she looked so innocent and confused when she finally touched the ground.
Also, they don't have eyes, so she wears a blindfold over where they would be. This is because instead of seeing things, they can feel and sense all things. Aside from this ability, one of their purposes is to talk to spirits and help them cross over.
I'm not sure about this one, but I thought it would be interesting if they could possess the spirit and become the person or something... I thought it out once, but I don't really remember how it worked.
Their bodies are attuned to life and can take on the form of pure light, which looks something like an angel maybe. It's an incredibly powerful form and is not often used, except in dire situations like war or something. I'm not exactly sure what powers they gain or what the consequences of using it are.
Anyway, they aren't really supposed to do much but lie around... So I thought maybe something happened while Andvari was born that made her kind of different and thus seek a different purpose in life.

Hero - I think she's just a normal human, I haven't really decided what yet... I thought of her when I saw some of the first pictures of Blood Elves, and the name came from "Much Ado About Nothing" by Shakespeare (I was reading it and thought the name Hero was really weird). Anyway, her special thing is that she attuned her body to meld with shadow so she can so of 'stealth' or disappear, whatever. So she's sort of a rogue type person. Tough, and always working for the wrong people.
She's Andvari's best friend (actually Andvari is in love with her, an emotion she's not even supposed to be able to have), they've known each other for years and do everything together. But, Hero is sort of evil.. In fact I thought about making her completely evil, like she's just using Andvari. For two reasons: One, because attuning yourself to shadow has horrible consequences on the body (not sure exactly what those are yet), and Andvari can heal her. And two, her ultimate goal is to attune herself both to shadow and light.
My reasoning is if you can control both, you can control time: Shadow -> Dark -> Night -> Time & Light -> Day -> Time... yeah.
