Today I offer my LJ friends a message bringing great hope that everyone should know love, romance, and passion unbound.
Not in fiction, not in fantasy, not dreaming of the pretty, imaginary love of others - Not the passions brought through creative storytelling -
REAL love.
Today many people will talk of love. Stories will be told, poems recited, gifts given in love's name.
All of this is triviality, in the shadow of real love. Nothing but a facade, a fantasy... so many hollow attempts at feeling something that quite simply cannot be conveyed if it isn't genuine.
In my own life, the greatest treasure I have known has been romantic love, meaningful and lifelong. I wish this same blessing for each of my friends. Should you find it, or if you have it already, you will know as I know, that there is no greater treasure. No ficticious telling can capture the essence of it, no matter the scope and skill a story teller possesses. Real love is a keepsake that cannot me mimicked, that can scarcely be imitated in creative stories of pretend love.
I? I have deeply loved but one woman, and that love has been profound and quite indescribable.
I wish this blessing for all of you.
Enjoy your day, celebrate love in whatever way you may.
"When Love speaks, the voice of all the gods
Makes heaven drowsy with the harmony."
- William Shakespeare
