everyone, meet Aiden! (ay-den)
we picked him up from the airport yesterday night around 10:15 pm. the very first thing he did upon seeing me was kiss my hand about a million times. we expected him to be sleepy -- he was wide awake and ready to play. he did sleep on the ride home though.
when we got him home, we set up his little enclosure, gave him some food/water, and introduced him to his toys. then we took pictures. lot of pictures. hehe.
i slept on the couch, mainly to keep an eye on lara (who, surprisingly, is accepting the puppy with minimal stress and more grace than i expected) but also to monitor aiden's first night away from home. it's not unusual for puppies to cry for their mother and littermates, but my little boy was so brave! he only made noise a few times the entire night, and even then it was brief little puppy barks or whimpers. nothing dramatic, nothing mournful.
he currently loves his old pillowcase blanket and his rope chew toy. to our very happy surprise, he's been handled very professionally since birth; he's been taught to hold still when being held, and he's already collar/leash/harness broken, so taking him outside for his first housebreaking lessons have been not stressful.
i'm going to resize and post the rest of the good pictures to my flickr page. i'll put up the link when they're ready!
love kittie
