happy spooky day!

i find this year that i'm done with thinking of halloween (as we celebrate it in the west) as a holiday. samhain is a holiday; halloween (again, western version) is really more of a tradition. yes, it's a marketing scheme as well, but i think the market supports the tradition, not the other way around.

but yes, it is samhain, the time of year when the harvest is reaped and the veil between us and the ghosties grows thin. good creative fodder, if nothing else.

tonight danny and i will be hanging out with colin and takahiro. it'll be a WoW/pizza/friends sort of night, and i can't really foresee any sort of halloween-ish activity. san francisco has cancelled any sort of official public party in lieu of last year's deaths; it's sad but i don't blame them at all. the city is still worried groups of people will migrate to the castro anyway, in hopes of having fun any way they can, and i'm really hoping things don't get rowdy. the castro is, in actuality, a very residential neighborhood and people there don't need rampaging gangs of drunken loonies messing up their driveways.

i... had more to say, but now i have lunch, and my stomach is demanding satisfaction. ^_^

love kittie

tradition, wow, samhain, holiday, work, office, social, food, party, halloween, lunch
