(no subject)
it never rained. /growl, /pout and /grump.
my errands were successful! most of them anyway. BB&B had a nice selection of back scrubbers, and i found one for dad. i also got a cake storage/carrying caddy, and a new candle that smells like apple cider with a hint of cinnamon and flowers. mmm. the craft store didn't have the kind of glass pendants or prisms i was hoping for, but i wasn't really expecting them to. after that, i decided to check out the local tea store, and i am in LOVE. not only did they have real, authentic earl gray with tons of bergamot, i also picked up high quality spearmint, chamomile (whole buds, not powdery bits) and lavender buds. i will be in therapeutic tisane heaven. i also grabbed some strawberry tea that smells fantastic -- we'll see how it tastes.
i'll be back in the office on wednesday. i only heard from koji once the entire time he was gone. normally i'd have freaked out completely, but every time the anxiety started, i reminded myself he just invested over a grand in business cards, and that it was wholly possible he was too busy to give me busy work. unfortunately, i forgot a to-do list in the office, so i'll be playing catch up wednesday through friday... but that's nothing new.
the past week was confusing for me. my physical self was absolutely grateful for the rest and relaxation, but my mental self feels i could have been more energetic, productive and/or creative. unless i'm sick, or officially on vacation, i think i'm just incapable of enjoying downtime without also feeling guilty. i don't know if that's a nature or nurture thing... i wish i could change it, but i doubt i'll ever be able to. and frankly, accomplishing at least one little thing a day isn't exactly a bad thing to do.
another late dinner tonight. i'm hungry now, but i might as well wait to cook, so danny can eat when he gets home. otherwise he'd probably just eat ice cream or get in'n'out. now, i'm not one to tsk tsk -- pancakes for dinner, and all -- but cooking for someone else encourages me to cook healthy.
