i am announcing my indefinite hiatus.

(little hamsters jump for joy!)

the hiatus was brought about by my lovely summer.

"lovely summer" is a lie.

okay, so the reason for my highly anticipated hiatus is my summer class.

yes, it's summer and i have academic munchies. woooh.

my summer classes have deprived me of my internet pleasures. and a whole heap of other pleasures.

* i'm sorry, LJ friends, if i haven't commented on some of your entries, but i've read most of them (and left some comments)

SUMMER UPDATE:

** Happy Part: CWTS Part 1 - Community Welfare Training Service (as part of my summer class)

1. Helped build houses for families in a community as part of our outreach program. It was tiring, my body was swimming in languor. but it was worth it. It feels great to help others. We also learned a lot from the residents.

the GK site (Gawad Kalinga - name of the project: a poverty reduction and nation-building movement here in my country) was quite far from our Uni. Okay, it is FAR. The taxi rate was steep, then we had to ride a Tricycle (remember the picture i posted before?) to reach the site. The residents were so welcoming, especially the kids ^_^

It was a fun experience. There were connections made and lessons learned. oy.

* here's a picture of my shoes (as a product of long taxi rides)

[contrary to popular belief, i don't have a foot fetish.]

* the taxi driver likes to decorate : )

[oh yes, furry things.]

one of our work areas:                                                the community:               the finished homes: (nice colors,eh?)

here's SANDY, the sand monster my friends and i made : )

[no, SANDY is not gay. i repeat, not gay. He's just a cute pile of sand, that's all.]

2. Spent time with the kids in the said community.

* we conducted an Art Contest, Dance Showdown, Mini Concert, Dora the Explorer Film Showing haha, Photoshoot, Kiddy Playtime haha, and other Interaction Activities. We also shared some gifts.
* We visited the community for a week.
It was a fun/rainy/sunny/windy/smoking hot week.

[Yes, global warming has already messed up our weather.]

3. PART 2 of CWTS: MEDIA-RELATED WORK (if you remember the course i'm taking up, this would be understandable)

* We're assigned to help DZUP, the official radio station of my university.
* my group is assigned to research about Kundiman (a genre of Filipino Love songs). Not exactly my type of music. but hey, it's summer, anything can happen. or most probably not. yes, here's ambivalence crawling its way up to my system.

* we'll also make an on-air book interpretation. yes, we're geeks. ahoy. ^_^

4. OKAY, let's move on to my worldly pleasures.

a. Watched movies:
like Breakfast at Tiffany's, Rain Man, USA VS John Lennon, Love Story, Punch Drunk Love, etc...
(also had a SCRUBS marathon)

[my fingers are quite photogenic, no? haha]

b. Finished/Still/Continued Reading: Little Women, Lolita, Kafka on the Shore, Japanese for Busy People ^_^

[who is this bookworm dude featured in my LJ? nice sweater.]

c. Random things this summer:

[vain fingers making a comeback!]

* Japanese Paper dolls!!!!

i didn't make them, someone else did. and you won't believe who this person is! : )

[i swear that girl in the green kimono waved at me..or maybe i was dreaming..yup, probably the latter.]

* listened to anime music!!!!  (and photoshopped!)

[why is anime so addictive? why?????]

* okay, this was taken a couple of months before the summer vacation. but i might as well post it, it fits today's mood. ^_^

[my brother took this picture. yup, my hair was that short.]

***************
and so, i'll be gone for a little while.

hold on, don't wear your party hats! I'll be BACK
(maybe sooner than you'd hoped! *sinister laugh bwahihi* weird, i know)

don't delete me from your Flist...or else...this is not a threat (or is it???)

: )

bye!

- FRITZ

* ki o tsukete!

(did i spell it right?)

^_^

summer, college, babble
