insect legs, gatsby, enumeration, and whatnot

Dec 04, 2008 19:53

i have been undergoing ineffable changes since my last entry (oct.31), i have spent many days trying to pry open my desolate social life...
i have been trying to transform into a so-called "sociable creature"... (the chances of that happening is not worth typing)

i even read "The Great Gatsby" for some tips, but that didn't work...i'm still a semi-waif (humor half intended)

recently, i have noticed that i have been isolating myself from creatures who have the ability to talk.
as proof:
i have this odd urge to spoil a conversation even before it is initiated.
i have this odd urge to bore a person even before any interaction occurs.

the above statements only apply to new acquaintances, new classmates, new people, or creatures who make me feel uncomfortable
here's what i'm trying to say:

this picture is open for your interpretations.

i feel weird today.
i just got off a 3-hour bus ride, my lower back hurts, and my left foot keeps on making bone-cracking sounds... great.

i deliberately escaped from my-happy-life-in-the-world-wide-web to give way to my 2nd semester in college...
a lot has happened since classes started.

here are some highlights: which are actually not that interesting

1. i watched a street dance competition, when i got home i tried some of their dance moves, i woke up in an old abandoned room at the hospital the next morning...my left foot had no bones

2. i have been enjoying my Creative Writing class; however, i'm still worried about the grades i'll be receiving...i also discovered that mr. Robert Frost reminds me of my friend, ChooChoo, she also enjoys stopping by the woods on snowy evenings and taking the road less traveled, partly because she is a worm and she loves adventures.

3. i had tons of readings to finish. essays/reflection paper to write. lessons to study. nothing new here. same old college life.

4. i don't drink coffee, but this morning i tried to. i bought iced coffee, hoping that my "caffeine loathing days" would be over..as i was about to take a sip, a little fellow greeted me a pleasant morning..here's an illustration of that "thing" swimming around in my coffee:

this is a semi-accurate illustration of what i saw this morning. instead of throwing up, i decided to look for the other parts of this "thing"..you see, i have concluded that this might be a leg of some sort (perhaps, an insect - a cockroach?) unfortunately, the other parts of this thingy didn't surface...my naval dreams are over.

5. the world of broadcast journalism has been welcoming...so far...i repeat -- so far...

---end of highlights---

books i've read during my absence:

a. the catcher in the rye -- comments please!  mr. holden annoys me.
b. who moved my cheese? -- i moved your cheese! hehe..seriously, i did..anyways, i actually find this book helpful.
c. the great gatsby - not yet finished...i have been squeezing in my reading time in between academic onuses and nap hours ^_^
d. lord of the flies -- i love this book.

movies my eyes have scrutinized:

a. the opening scene in twilight - was that a deer in the forest? -- don't ask me why that's the only scene i've seen..
b. mona lisa smile -- i took a 3hour nap after watching this movie...
c. love phobia - a quirky korean movie. as usual, you have your favorite korean elements which never fail in making a feel-good movie: comedy, drama, romance, weird/random humor, aliens, rice fields, hospitals, blood, lizards, butter, cute eyes, odd song, bike rides, shocking revelations, plot twist, tears, more tears, gas, big teeth, awkward dream sequence
d. my tutor friend -- another korean movie. the title speaks for itself. tutor-tutee relationship plus violent curly hair.
e. to kill a mockingbird -- : )

--pretsi starts to babble....again--

it's December!
this can only mean the following:

1. Christmas is coming! weeh
2. Christmas Vacation *evil laugh*
3. term paper boohoo
4. study for midterm exams
5. little kids caroling and yelling and scratching your gates and throwing rocks at you
6. the weighing scale is waiting for me...
7. it's time to smash the piggy -- ????

my simple (errr) wish list:

1. new books -- i'm planning to read: "one flew over the cuckoo's nest", "the old man and the sea", can you suggest some more books : )
2. Leon the professional DVD
3. PSP -- a girl can dream, right?
4. good grades -- oh, yes : )
5. peace and political/economic stability

ok, i'll end it here, i've strained your eyes too much..bye!
