the blood in my veins

so.
I was being a little silly last time. this last trip was by far the best trip to mexico so far. yeah the room was ghetto but so what ( did i mention the holes in the ancient, thread bear sheets had been patched not with thread but with scotch shape. how clever) but that night we started a game where not only did we eat most meals on the street from vendors but if they asked if we wanted somthing we had to say yes. obviouly this ended badly in scome cases ( ie french fries soggy with cold velveta, mayonaise and katsup)
. wednesday morning i discovered a fresh farmers market two blocks from our house so we started buying stuff from there (bacon from a butcher there and eggs from this old woman and tortillas, ect.) and cooking it for breakfast  at the posadas' comunal kitchen
. anyways food got alot better.
We also found a great cafe on a rooftop near this really beautiful cathederal santo domingo

Last weekend we made it out to Mazunte beach on a five hour stomach wrenching bus ride over the mountains but it was entirely worth it

the bech was like this little hippie cove and wes and i were able to get into a cabana for $15 each a night. he selflessly took the stiffling room with the mosquito net and i got the hammock
. The whole thing was incredibly cheap ( $4 for a whole fresh fish, sol for $1.50), $12 bus tickets there) and really beatiful.
While we were in Oaxaca though they were protesting, like i said earlier so the capitol was kind of in termoil but it was a really good chance to talk to alot of interesting people who had travled from all over the state to get to the capitol to protest
unfortunatly some people were really violent but i suport the basic cause of most people.
Walking through one of the markets we found these really great masks of like all these mexican politicians and also bush and some animals so we bought 4 bush masks, 2 wolf masks and one lamb masks and walked the city at night wearing them taking pictures and making semi political demonstrations. mostly it was wes in a bush mask and me in a lamb mask. but i plan to make good use of those masks in the future.
Mission accomplished!
