They had to shoot the season out of order in order to accommodate Amanda Tapping shooting the SG1 movie. That means, if you look at episodes like Missing and Reunion very carefully, you can already see Rachel's baby bump.
The original idea of the season was to make Rodney a father, but when Rachel announced her pregnancy they switched gears because they didn't want two main characters facing impending parenthood at the same time (I am forever grateful they dropped the Rodney as a father idea)
They had already written a dark arc for Teyla over the season, so they had to juggle it a little and incorporate the pregnancy into the season. I much prefer it this way because you have the darkness of Teyla's character balanced with the softness of her impending motherhood. Without the baby, I feel that she would have been taken to darker places and lost some of the audience.
Uh.. Rodney? father? OMG. Well, yes, I am glad, too, that they droped that. Jeez, Rodney as a father?! That seriously would make the show a little...well...soap-opera-like?! I mean that Teyla's pregnant is bad enough.
That's right. The best episode that showed that so far was "missing". I was shocked how Teyla (re)acted in this episode. Hopefully they will keep it that way and don't let her play the "mother" all the time. But I guess there will come some really good episodes with her this season :)
No, no...she will be dark (Dark Teyla!) but I think they cut back a little on the extremity of darkness that they originally plotted. She's on the whole revenge kick of "those who kidnapped my people are gonna pay and pay alot" balanced with "I am carrying what possibly might be the last of my people." It's a good dynamic.
yeah but really Dark teyla would be cool. I mean I love that tehy got rid of thatz stupid smile in er face. in Missing I felt that she was alive for the first time, that she was really a human beeing (okay athosian beeig). Geez Dark!Teyla bring it on!
oh no, she is nOT going to be tlike that? I mean last of my kind is so booooring *sigh* we already had that with Ronon, can we move on please?
I just don't get what Shep has all of a sudden with "his children".. maybe he wants to be a daddy (what was that about Rodney be a father? *g*)

Since they dropped the Rodney as a father storyline, I'm just gonna pretend that he and John were playing with Ancient technology and accidentally created a baby (or a clone). Hey, it's worked in fanfic before! And since they're never writing it, I can pretend it's true :P
uh that Rodney a virgin and John helping out so they can cut Rodney loose from that ancient device and go home story? Where Rodney then is pregnant and they're moving in together?
there were some McShep moments in Seer for me to squee. I really love that idea. But I am happy when the writers would stop shippin/Slashinng everyone withe weveryone. god there are more important things in life and the show then sadisfy every need.
Umm, all of them are better than Miracles. Not that I don't like Miracles, I re-read it alot, but those three are really amazing stories. (None of those are MPREGs, though...they're all baby outside of the body fics) If you want some good MPREGs, then you should try two of my favorite series:
Well the thing with Mpregs is that you have "caring daddy" almost garantueed. And that's what I love about Miracles it has some very nice scenes. I don't need sex in a McShep story as long as I have a moment when both show their effections it's enough (okay I admit I also read pwp but that are not for squeeing - just to learn the english words for human body parts :P *lalala* )
read He's having her baby. It's nice, funny but not quite what I love. Right direction but not hotting the spot. I'm very and I mean VERY picky ;) thanks for the rec though :)
Have you read He's Having His Baby because that would be the point of the series (it being the MPREG after all:) You have to read the HER to get the HIS, but the HIS is the MPREG.

Miracles? No...I was thinking more along the lines of A Beautiful Lifetime Event or Two Men and a Baby or Like No Other Child. You know, Ancient baby machines.

Any of them as good as Miracles?
