It's been a hectic few days, between the weekly-supervillain-attack and the near end of the world descending on the earth. And Perry'd come into town, too--making all of Lois' days far more work-intensive, if only because she now has to put up with his yelling.
(She's thrilled to have him around again, but she'll be tortured before admitting that.)
There was a brief moment when the higher-ups were considering transferring her to Washington--as the President seemed willing to speak to her--but both she and Perry were quick to shoot that idea down. And it would have been great--would have been perfect, in fact--
And then stupid, goddamn Smallville managed to scoop her. He should have been too busy freaking saving the world! But no, he just had to get that in and take her headline. Sure, she got front page--below the fold. God, she'd wanted to strangle him with his own somewhat coffee-stained tie (and wasn't that overkill? Really...)
...Although, well, he did kind of give her that picture. And that was a headtrip in and of itself. She's not sure, these days, exactly where she stands with him. After all, that day on the plane, it was pretty obvious it was him, even if she hadn't already known... but still, Lois has no clue how Clark wants to handle this, either in public or with her. She's barely spoken to him since that bright red and blue started gracing the skies above Metropolis.
So, lacking in an idea what to do about this, Lois has simply resorted to doing what she always does: work.
Which is why Lois is now sitting at her kitchen table, eating reheated Chinese food, and watching CNN while thoughtfully scribbling down notes here and there.
