Of course not! I'm watching the "9/11 As It Happened" and it's like being punched in the face. I don't think I can watch it anymore... it makes me want to go hurt someone. :(
Eeep! STEP AWAY FROM THE HISTORY CHANNEL! I'm generally all for remembrance, but it...might be too soon to be reliving things so closely. Which, I guess saying that seven years out sounds funny, but that's something that the nation as a whole may take a very, very long time to recover from. Most people in recovery don't like to be confronted with the thing that hurt them. :(
There are a few people on my flist who I want to punch in the back of the head right now, for suggesting that not only did we deserve it, but that the government was involved. Which is funny, because I love these people... but I want to punch them in the back of the head.
I watch it every year. I never want to forget how I felt that day.
*sigh* I don't generally agree with conspiracy theorists, but they also don't usually make me angry. The shit about the government being involved is pretty par for the course as far as those things go, but saying that we 'deserved' it is going way out there.
There were "9/11 Was An Inside Job!" protestors on our causeway. I was waiting (and hoping) for someone who had lost someone in the attacks to drive by and throw something out their car window at them.
Don't punch me - I don't wanna hit you back! (for the record, inside jobs are rife thruout history, so it shouldn't be a surprise that anyone - including me - would suspect as much of that 1% [or is it less now?] elite. Everything comes back to money and power. *is cynical*)
The "we deserved it" crap is right up there with the "God hates Fags!" nonsense. However, I wouldn't approve of throwing things at them, ala death threats for the Dixie Chicks. Freedom benefits - and cuts - both ways. There's more tasteful ways of voicing disapproval - wish that church would use them rather than picketing funerals - which is just crass and disrespectful.
Speaking of disrespect, I hope you don't consider my butting in to be as such. If I've offended, I apologize.

edit: spelling is not my strong point!
