as i sat in church this morning listening to Reverend Slye preach, i realized something. That something was the reason that i don't like lent. Lent's intentions are good...sacrifice something as Jesus sacrificied during his forty days in the forest. that part isn't what i have the problem with. the problem lies at the end of lent. Lent-followers tend to forget the meaning of Easter Sunday and instead think of it as the day they can again drink dr. pepper, eat chocolate, or play video games. It just all comes back to doing something because you're told to, not because you know the meaning or why you're doing it, you just do it because you know your religion encourages it and your parents forced you to when you were a kid.
