This Country is Driving Me Mad
It is now 11PM on a Wednesday night here in Cebu. At this moment I, and over a hundred of my "neighbors" have had to tolerate pounding base for about 3 hours. I don't know when it will stop and I can't sleep despite needing to wakeup at 6AM. This is the straw that broke the camels back, I have lost any shred of believe that it might be possible for the Philippines to ever advance.
It is just coincidence that I found the following link. It is very good documentation of the reasons that this country will never advance. I don't agree with some of it, but I don't think that his observations are wrong nor do I think that his stories are false. If I had to pick out his biggest error, I would choose his opinion that foreigners think that they are superior because they are rich. Wrong. They think they are superior mostly because they come from superior countries where the insanity demonstrated by his own writing is far harder to come by.
