i started school. taking Lit-61: Intro to Reading Poetry. it's such a joke. there are a total of 10 people in my class. myself and two others are the only ones who really talk. and one of them hates poetry and is a total dick. it's kind of hilarious. it's kind of nice taking a single class just to get it out of the way. i have plenty of free time now that my dumbshit new general manager at Noah's has cut everyone's hours. she's so awful, in pretty much every respect. we're always out of stock of stuff, this last time, coffee cups. out of both the large and the small. so we stacked two iced tea cups for greater insulation and sold them. i'm pretty sure they have wax coatings and are somewhat unhealthy when exposed to the high temperature of coffee. i really hope she gets fired somehow. oh well.
I just got this "OiNK" bit torrent program and after a long hiatus i have returned to the world of stealing music off the internet.
this is the year I've come to fully enjoy electronic music. additionally; a lot of krautrock and post-rock, several metal albums, jazz, instrumental hip-hop, some idm (haha weirdest music i've ever heard), and a couple of indie albums i've been lacking, notably Loveless by My Bloody Valentine, jesus that album is one in a million.
I'm hopefully going to see the Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem together at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. They're both so awesome, I have a hard time deciding which of the two I like more.
this sunday night/early monday morning is the annual Perseids meteor shower, which also happens to correspond to the new moon, ergo: ideal viewing. I'm going to try to go up to this awesome geological structure in the mountains north of santa cruz called "Moonrocks" to get above the fog layer. i've never seen a meteor shower before.
looking for a house for next year...so aggravating and stressful. more on that as it develops.
otherwise life is completely boring as usual. there are so few people in santa cruz compared to the school year. le sigh. goodnight.
