Susan the character who yells has been told that there is an office meeting scheduled in the evening. Actually an office dinner and she has a kid at home for whom she couldn't locate a sitter and her husband is busy too.
The little kid is Elmo. And this strip comes up right after I finished reading a Grisham novel;-) This one was today's toon though.
