The Tudors: A Primer
So, a few weeks back ago, while I was most emphatically not working on my paper, I watched the first two episodes of The Tudors on Showtime's website. OMG, I thought, The fic for this will be so hot.
Yeah I know you're thinking, "But hey, we already know what happens, why should we watch?" Well, everyone knew what happened to the Titanic but a frillion people saw it over and over again anyway. Why? Because it was so gloriously dramatized and the costumes were hot, and the scenery was hot, and the cast was totally friggin' hot! And if you're like, "But Henry VIII was totally fat, that's not hot," you'd be wrong! I haven't looked this up yet, but I had a history class or two more than once in school, and I distinctly remember the young Henry described as a stone fox, which is why he got all the play (also, "I'm the king of England!"). But even in the case of total historical inaccuracy, that's not really the point. The point is that it's entertaining, which it so is!

In the show, Henry VIII is played by Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and is constantly in a state of half-nakedness, which rocks. Whether he's bangin' some lady-in-waiting, or wrestling the totally hot!king of France, he's showing massive skin. BUT! Even when he's fully clothed, he's in leggings and gorgeous period costumes that make me want to bend him over his throne and truss him up sexin' style.

It's not just JRM that's hot, the entire cast is ridiculously good looking. I'm even attracted to Sam Neil, although it might be because of his badass Pope hustling. Damn, I wish Sam Neil was Pope...

Anyway, there's lots of sexin' and hand to God pretty much any pairing or combination of people hittin' it nasty would be hot. There's also man-on-man action. Starring this guy:
That would be Kristen Holden-Ried as William Compton, a friend of Henry. This is also the pic that cemented the urge to watch the show for the very first time. I was clearly not disappointed. Henry has many very good looking friends, as evidenced by this shot of his right-hand-wingman, Charles Brandon (played by Henry Cavill):
Confused, but pretty, just how I like 'em! He reminds me a lot of Chris Evans, both in looks and personality.
ETA: I forgot to add Henry's other friend Anthony Knivert (played by Callum Blue), which is understandable as I was so stonewalled by hawtness it completely slipped my mind.
I was hooked from the very first scene, and I'm sure you'll be too. Therefore, from the deepest recesses of my heart, I urge you to watch the show! If your IC is slow, I'm pretty sure they break it down into clips, but it's not the entire episode. If you don't have Showtime, there are plenty of other places to watch and/or download the episodes (i.e. ondemand,youtube, ifilm, torrenting). The creators of that journal seem to have made a few fic comms for The Tudors as well. Hopefully I'm proven right, and suddenly (although, most likely not due to my little pimping here) there will be an influx of Tudors porn fic!
