Entourage
There are only two reasons you might not like this show:
1. You don't enjoy fun.
2. You don't enjoy pretty people.
Well, okay, if you're only into Deep and Meaningful television, you might not love it. But if you're looking for good fun, boys being boys (with other boys), comedy, killer cameos, and Jeremy fucking Piven, well, have I got the show for you!
Vincent Chase is pathologically charming, attractive, and talented.
He's an up-and-coming star living in Hollywood, but he hasn't lost his blue-collar Queens roots.
He took them with him.
On his left is Eric. We'll get back to him in a minute. Eric is his best friend since childhood who used to manage a Sbarro's, but now manages Vince's career. They're...close. Yes. "Close."
To his right is his brother, Johnny, a washed-out genre actor who was popular in the 90's. Johnny Drama (as everyone calls him) is played to hilarious perfection by Kevin Dillon. And if that bit of awesome casting doesn't make you squeal, you have a heart of stone, my friend. Johnny has an inflated sense of his self-worth, a desperate need to be recognized, and an endearing habit of trying to enforce his role as Vince's big brother. Johnny is sometimes a walking cliche, but a damned funny one. And Kevin Dillon's genius keeps you rooting for him all the way.
Next to Johnny is Turtle. Turtle also grew up with the boys and is, arguably, the most New York out of all of them. Turtle likes pussy, video games, rappers, and weed. And yet, (again, thank you, Jerry Ferrara) he's also charming, lovable, oddly competent, and a killer with the comebacks. He's best friends with Drama, even though they drive each other crazy.
They also had a threesome with a girl once. They don't talk about that. Ever.
So, Vince and his boys hang out with other people too.
On the left is Ari motherfucking Gold, played by Jeremy fucking Piven. Ari's awesomeness cannot be contained in text. Here, have Ari's Greatest Hits:
And, just because it bears repeating: Jeremy. Piven.
The badass lady on the right is Shauna, Vince's PR person, played by the equally badass Debi Mazar. She's as New York as the boys and you do not fuck with Shauna or you will regret it, for reals.
Also, there is Lloyd:
Lloyd says: Fuck off bitches, you'll find out about my spoilery awesomeness in S3!
Did you maybe notice that, in the last picture, Eric and Vince only had eyes for each other?
Yeah. They do that.
They have pretty bad personal boundaries.
They live together, and it's kind of domestic.
And they're pretty.
They also fight, make up, break up, get girls to act as messengers between them, declare their love all over again, and basically make it All About Them. They are best friends, confidantes, co-workers, and the only one the other can trust.
We like that in a show.
Eric and Vince are love. I'd give you clips, but really, the best parts are all spoilery. Because the Eric and Vince love story? Is the arc of S2. I shit you not.
Sadly, there is little fic for this fandom. Happily, a lot of t is really, really good.
