Aranjuez
My attempt to learn pen and ink techniques has gone a little wayward. Half way through shading my first practice scene of a thatched cottage I almost died of boredom and decided to skip straight to drawing what I wanted. Fresh from pottering round Pottermmore, with fanfic ideas running through my head and Concierto de Aranjuez playing in the background I came up with this.
I started off just drawing a Vargas girl, decided to donate her to Severus, turned her into Hermione and had them holidaying in Aranjuez. As you do. I've had a few issues trying to differentiate between different objects/fabrics/etc when I can only use one colour and I haven't discovered many shading techniques yet... and I can't for the life of me work out how to differentiate between background and foreground when my shading is already used up as colour and texture.
Much more fun to do that finishing off that thatched cottage though. :D
