Happenings
So the first week of school went swimmingly, with little confusion (though there was some...changing my schedule in 3 days certainly was confusing as was walking into Empire of the Tsars and walking out within 5 mintues...). I was accepted into Concert Choir, and I went to my first practice with them Wednesday. It's awesome, because we're going Rutter's "Requiem", which I've already done with Masterworks Chorale. This group is struggling with it a little, but I mainly remember the alto part, so I'm good to go, though I need to practice and re-memorize it. I'm a little worried, because the first concert is in October, and I know with one practice per week in Masterworks (as opposed to two practices a week in Concert Choir), and with a much bigger choir in Masterworks, it still took an entire semester to learn.. I'm also in the University Chorus, and we're doing Schubert's Mass in G, and so far I like it. My creative writing class is going very well, I know I'm going to love this class. I actually like the assignments and everyone in the class is friendly and it's not like a normal lecture where you listen to the professor talk for 50 minutes and don't speak a word to anyone. The other classes are going well too, except I missed the first day of History-101. I'm thinking of doing the unthinkable: Sorority recruitment begins, well kinda next week, but the events begin the week after. There are only 3 sororities on campus that are involved in recruitment, and I've glanced at 2 of them. One of them looks really good to me, but I'm really not going to make any judgments until I get to know the members at the informal parties, and also get to know them more at Preference. So yes, I have decided to rush, though I may not join any of them even if I get a bid, if I don't like what I see. So that's all I guess...
