2 Days in the Life of The Dhabolt Family
I am part of a Due Date Club (turned "Playroom" after our babies were born), in which all the women in the group were due to have a baby on or around August 2012. Anyway, we have this fun activity where we each do a "Day in the Life of..." and take pictures of our ordinary and boring day-to-day activities... and this week it was my turn! I ended up doing 2 days instead of just one, mostly because I forgot about it on the first day, haha! Anyway, here are 2 days of our lives:
November 13, 2012
(please ignore the times on the first few pictures, I realized at some point that the times were all wrong, so I didn't put them on any future pictures. But they are on the first few. Just know the times listed on these pics are totally inaccurate, haha)
Ok, so on this day, I was planning to do my "Day In The Life Of" (I wanted to do it this day because Gwydd had the day off work, so I thought it was a perfect time), but I *completely* forgot. So at around 9:30 ish, Gwyddion (DH) went grocery shopping. When he came home, he asked me, "so did you take any pictures yet?"
Me: "Of what?"
Gwydd: "...your day in the life of thing."
Me: "No! OMG, I completely forgot!"
Ha!
Then he said: "Are you going to get the kids dressed soon?"
Me: "Why?"
Gwydd: "To go to the library! Remember?!"
Me: "OMG, I forgot about that too!"
hahaha... apparently I completely spaced on everything we had planned that day!
Anyway, so now that I remembered that it was picture day, I started taking pictures.
Right about this time Rhiannon watches her morning episode of Yo Gabba Gabba (here she is picking her nose on the couch):
I went into the bedroom to feed Brigit and play my Sims Freeplay game on my phone:
After Brigit is fed (I'm still in my jammies... and had just taken a shower, hence the towel):
Seamus doing his morning homework. His morning homework is doing a journal entry. Today did a drawing of an End Portal in Minecraft.
I do a little Facebooking (including playing games):
Time to get Bumblebee ready... Before Diaper:

Mom and Brigit are dressed! Brigit needs to feed again, and then she takes a little nap while everyone else gets dressed:
Time to get everyone in the car! Then we went to the grocery store again because Dad forgot coffee (and lets face it... we need that):
At the library! We went to the library today because Seamus needed a new novel to read. He'd finished both "The Meanest Doll in the World", by Ann M. Martin; and the first "Captain Underpants" book. We got "Wolves of the Beyond: Lone Wolf", by Kathryn Lasky and the next book in the "Captain Underpants" series. Both are for Seamus. He'll read a chapter of Captain Underpants during his daily quiet time, and a chapter of Lone Wolf at bed time.
After the library, we had lunch at Dominick's (a local dive). Seamus got a fake mustache from the quarter machine thingie in the restaurant. He's celebrating Movember, lol:
Seamus did some afternoon homework (on Tuesday afternoon his homework is animal studies):
Then it was time for quiet time. Seamus read to Rhiannon (he reads a short book to her every day for quiet time). Quiet time is from about 2-5 pm (2-4 for Seamus though). There are multiple reasons for quiet time. (1) it was originally their nap times, when they were young enough to take naps (and we will strive to get Brigit to nap at this time too when she gets a little older), (2) it allows some down time of quietly playing in their rooms. Some alone time for them, (3) Seamus uses this time to do quiet time homework, reading, and cleaning up in his room, and (4) it's MOM'S alone time! LOL
Some pictures of what Gwydd, Brigit, and I did during quiet time. Gwydd played computer games, we both watched the previous night's Daily Show and Colbert Report while Brigit took a nap in the swing. After Brigit woke up, I breastfed her on the floor in the office and watched more stuff on Netflix (we don't have a couch in there so we put a big sleeping bag and pillows down... and yes, there's some sort of string stuck to my thigh, haha), and then I did the dishes.
After quiet time, it's time to get ready for Taekwondo! Seamus got dressed. Brigit got a diaper change (and an outfit change... she puked all over the other one, haha).
At Taekwondo. I did not take any pictures of Seamus actually doing Taekwondo because we stayed down in the lobby area. Rain played with one of the other TKD students' little sister. Dad played with Brigit. Then we got ready to go back home.
Dad and Seamus cooked dinner. They made salmon and cream cheese omelettes with fresh dill on top.
Seamus playing with Brigit (by this time, Rhiannon had already gone to bed. Dad read to both her and Brigit -he's currently reading The Lord of the Rings to them-. Guess I didn't get pictures of that):
Dad and Brigit got into bed and watched a little bit of football:
I did some knitting (I have since completed this sock), then recorded my fertility signs on my chart and played some Sims Freeplay. We also watched some TV and fell asleep.:

November 14
I decided to do two days... mostly because I missed pretty much all of yesterday's morning because, silly me, I forgot about it!
Anyway, I woke up at 7:00 (screenshot of my phone), and of course, played Sims Freeplay:

At 9:00 I got breakfast ready for the kids. Seamus had oatmeal. Rhiannon had Cheerios, a cereal bar, and they both got a banana.
First I went into Seamus' room... he was already in his attached bathroom brushing his teeth:
Then I went into Rainbow's room. Morning, Rainbow! Nice hat!
Eating breakfast:
Went on the bed to breastfeed Bumblebee:
Diaper change!
COFFEEEE!
Seamus did his morning homework. I took a picture of his assignment sheet, too... so that ya'll can see what his morning journaling entails (this week there are only 5 options instead of 6. Normally there are 6):
After Seamus finishes his morning homework, he's allowed to watch a movie. Only reason he didn't yesterday was because we went to the library instead. Today he picked out The Neverending Story 2:
I played Facebook games while Brigit played in her baby gym:
Rainbow came over to sit with the baby:
Brigit had lunch, and then so did the rest of us. The Tai Pei stuff is my lunch:
Seamus and I marked the line on our water evaporation science experiment. We have a pool to see how many days it's going to take for the water to fully evaporate. Dad guessed 30 days, I guessed 45, and Seamus guessed 226, LOL. We started on September 16. I'm thinkin' Mom's winning this one. ;-)
The kids had their quiet time. I took a video of Seamus reading part of a chapter of his Captain Underpants book:
Seamus and I watched stuff about the universe on Netflix:
Then we had to get ready for Taekwondo. Dad's at work today, so I have to walk everyone (I don't drive). So I got the kids ready... Bumblebee changed, Rainbow in fresh clothes, Seamus (not pictured) in his uniform... yadda yadda.
I didn't take any pictures of us at Taekwondo (or any pictures of Brigit in the carrier and Rhiannon in her lion backpack/harness, haha)... but later that night, Gwydd took a couple pictures of a VERY grumpy Rhiannon on my lap, hehe:
