For those of you who remember my last post, sorry that it has taken me so long to update but I have had a lot going. I just wanted to you let you know that everything turned out ok, the amniocentesis was normal and they said the ultrasound was a false positive, so there is nothing to worry about. I'm so relieved! I have to get another ultrasound in June because the baby also had a choroid plexus cyst in her brain. They said they are common and most disappear before the baby is 28 weeks, so they want to do a US to make sure it is gone, or diminishing. For those of you who don't remember my last post, I pasted it below. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers and I appreciate everyone who supported me through this whole ordeal.

Well, for those of you who didn't read my last post, I had an ultrasound on April 12th but didn't have a doctor's appointment on the same day so I didn't get to hear the results. To make a long story short, I received a letter in the mail 10 days later saying that I had to go get another ultrasound with the reason on the letter being "unable to obtain nasal bone on our ultrasound" and I hadn't received any other information about this other than that letter and was freaking out because I got it on Saturday and couldn't call anyone about it. So on Monday morning I called the doctor's office and told them how inappropriate I thought it was that they wouldn't have contacted me before sending out that letter and that I thought it was really mean to scare someone like that. She must have had my chart right in front of her when she was talking to me because she said that she didn't see anything in my chart about even sending out a letter, so that was wonderful. She was very apologetic and said she wanted to look more into it and that she would call me back. She called back but I missed the call so I had to call her and she said that she had talked to the receptionist and supposedly they had called and left a message on my machine about it and I said I didn't get a message. She apologized again about the miscommunication and I asked her to put in my chart to call my cell phone from now on.
Well, I had my ultrasound today and the baby wasn't cooperating and wouldn't turn the right way so that she could get a good picture of the face. She had to call the doctor in after about 20 minutes of trying to get the baby to turn to see if he could see anything. Well, he must have seen enough because he told us exactly what we had been dreading, that he didn't see the nasal bone. I asked him if maybe they did another ultrasound later on that maybe the baby would be cooperating more and he said that he didn't think the bone was there. He said that was an indicator of Down's Syndrome or other chromosomal abnormalities which was exactly what I was hoping NOT to hear but he also said that it could be nothing and the baby could be healthy. He said the only way to be completely sure was to get an amniocentesis. I asked him a bunch of questions about it and Jake and I had already discussed it and decided that if they did think something was wrong that we would have it done. So I had the amniocentesis after the ultrasound today and it hurt, but not as bad as I thought it would. I couldn't watch it being done and Jake held my hand the whole time. They said it would take 5-7 days to get the results back which is going to feel like forever. I just am trying to stay positive and hope for the best news.
