Hey everyone, I have hypothyroidism and recently had my levels checked. My current TSH is 2.3. My doctor (primary) says that I am stable and he wants me to stay on my current meds and get tested again in 4 weeks. Is 2.3 too high for being in your second trimester? I'm a little confused. You say "One says it should be under 3.0 and another says it should be under 2.8"

And you are 2.3, wanting to get under 2.0.

I'd have said you were spot on/good for now... why mess with it if it's well within acceptable levels... I'd say your GP is right - it's fine/good/normal.

I said that because I have also seen people say that their doctors want them under the level of 2.

That's generally a fine zone to be in. I would suggest finding an endocrinologist that is knowledgeable in thyroid conditions during pregnancy, just to be sure. I have hypo whether I'm pregnant or not and my endo is very good about keeping good ranges during pregnancy. First trimester is most important, second you can relax, and then third they usually try to get TSH levels a little lower to help with growth. Also, monitoring your levels as they normalize postpartum is really important bc you're at elevated risk for PPD and problems with milk supply.
