Mama cloth for lochia?

Has anyone successfully used mama cloth or a mooncup etc for lochia?

Since using cloth nappies on my daughter I'm interested in reducing my disposable purchases. I planned to buy or make some mama cloth for personal use but only had one period in between my pregnancies! I've seen 'overnight/lochia' cloth menstrual pads but knowing how many disposable maternity pads I went through a day in the first couple of weeks makes me wary of spending what would be a large amount of money one something I wouldn't use again for a couple of years (hopefully!).

How about mooncups etc? Are these suitable or completely inappropriate for lochia? I've not used one before so this may not be the best time to learn, but I'm definitely interested in finding out my options!

29 weeks, so plenty of time to make some pads if I choose to go down that route. :)

EDIT: Okay, so nothing internal for lochia! I did know that - can't believe I forgot! I'll look into getting/making some cloth pads though, as I think they will be useful. I remember fairly heavy bleeding after my daughter and one or two clots but nothing that wouldn't be covered by a decent cloth pad I think, after the first few days. I'll be using cloth nappies anyway so will probably be washing every day or every other day for a while.
