I'm currently 38w2d, and I'm seeing my doctor once a week. As I'm sure you know, not much happens at those visits: weigh-in, blood pressure, listening to baby's heartbeat, cervical check, five minutes of face time with my doctor in case I have any questions.
I've been dutifully going to all my doctor visits (and I'll be going to one tomorrow) but is it really necessary to go next week? Due to the holiday week, it was hard to find a good time for an appointment--the earliest time they could fit me in was a 9am appt, which means I won't get to work until at least 11am, and it will be my second-to-last day of work! I'll be 39w4d--the way I see it, either I'm in labor or I'm not, right? Is there any reason I absolutely need to see my doctor that couldn't wait until Monday (aka, my due date, and my first day home?)
It's possible I'm overthinking all this, and my doctor will tell me it's just fine to miss my last weekly appt, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!
Edit: Thanks for all your comments, you were all totally right. At my doctor's appt today my doctor said it was fine for me to skip next week altogether and then go in on my EDD.
