Ambien.

For those of you who have taken Ambien while pregnant, did you take it nightly? I was prescribed ten of them by my OB and was told not to take them every day. Obviously I need to make them last, but I'm paranoid that if I need one a few nights in a row that it will cause some sort of damage ( Read more... )

I have no clue. I am sure it's fine, though, I'd ask your doc. Did you try unisom before getting ambien (doxylamine)? That works wonders for me, but benadryl (diphenhydramine) does not. Just a thought, but if you need the ambien, you need it! :)

I have tried Unisom, but it is diphenhydramine HCL... Are there different formulas of Unisom?

In the US, regular Unisom is doxylamine. Diphenhydramine is the gel-caps (or Benadryl).

Do you remember not to eat anything two hours before you take Ambien? If you take it too many days in a row, you build a tolerance.

Oh yeah, I stop eating by seven or eight and need to be asleep by 3:00 at the latest. My work hours are weird. I used to take Ambien months before getting pregnant and I suppose I could have a tolerance to it. It doesn't affect me at all like it used to, but then again, I can't say Ambien was the only thing in my system at that point in my life. Living by doc's orders now.
