Diet the day of the Glucose Screen

Oct 26, 2011 23:31

So, I am having my 1 hour glucose screening test at 3:30 next Tuesday. My instructions say to "Eat a normal, high-protein breakfast, and/or lunch. If your appointment is later in the day, continue to eat normal meals throughout the day." I am just wondering if there is anything I should specifically avoid eating to avoid a false positive (I mean, obviously no diet of nothing but cake and icecream that day!) and maybe some suggestions of things to eat for breakfast/lunch/snacks prior to my test. I definitely don't want to "cheat," but I really don't want an avoidable false positive! If it matters for your suggestions, I am vegan.

Luckily I don't have to drink Glucoa! My practice has a list of juice/banana combinations that we can choose from instead. Yay!
